Barbara H. Choi

Barbara H. Choi is a shareholder at the firm.  She advises public entity clients on constitutional, employment, land use, litigation, risk analysis and premises liability matters. She advises private clients on business, estate planning and trust administration, employment, and real estate law.  She joined the firm in 2000.

She was previously a litigation associate in Los Angeles at the law firm Pepper, Hamilton & Sheetz, and then at Graham & James, practicing in the areas of commercial business litigation, environmental and real estate law representing international companies.  She also worked in the litigation department at the Office of the Santa Clara County Counsel, where she specialized in employment, constitutional law, and premises liability matters.

She graduated in 1986 from the University of California at Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in English Literature and German minor.  She received her law degree in 1991 from the University of California at Los Angeles where she served as Articles Editor/Book Review Editor for the Journal of Environmental Law & Policy and served as Student Bar Association Treasurer.

Ms. Choi is currently a member of the Santa Cruz County Women Lawyers' Association and served on its Board of Directors for two years.  She is also a member of the Santa Cruz County Bar Association and a member of the its Estate Planning Council. In 2021, Ms. Choi was honored by the Santa Cruz County Bar Association with the Rollie Hall Award for outstanding service to the community.
