The firm is currently recruiting an associate attorney with experience in civil litigation and municipal law. Responsibilities will include litigation on a broad range of issues on behalf of our public agency and private clients, including civil rights, torts, premises liability, employment, CEQA, land use, contracts, real estate, commercial and eminent domain. Additional responsibilities will include providing comprehensive legal services to our public agency clients, including land use, environmental, employment, CEQA and Brown Act/Public Records Act/Political Reform Act advice.
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of relevant public agency and/or litigation experience. Strong academic background and excellent communication skills required. Salary DOQ.

The firm seeks a 2L or 3L law student for a paid clerkship who is motivated and wants to gain immensely valuable work experience. The clerkship can be either Part-Time or Full-Time for the Summer; and Part-Time during the Academic Year. A Part-Time clerk is expected to work a minimum of 8 hours a week.
The law clerk will work closely with firm attorneys and have a great opportunity to learn how to practice in all areas of municipal and public entity law in both transactional and litigation matters. Transactional matters may include attendance at public meetings, drafting ordinances and resolutions, performing legal research, reviewing and drafting contracts, and providing advice regarding the myriad of legal issues public entities encounter on a daily basis Litigation responsibilities may include preparation of pleadings, drafting discovery requests and responses, and performing legal research in all areas of litigation, including prosecuting municipal infractions, nuisance abatement, tort and civil rights liability, land use and environmental issues. The firm also represents private clients in business, employment, estate planning, construction and real estate matters; the law clerk may also be involved in working in these practice areas.
